Summer is approaching fast. After a long, frosty and gloomy winter we can not wait for sunny, hot days. At work we are on tenterhooks dreaming about the upcoming holiday. Our children learn summer songs in kindergartens, they’re trying to improve their grades in schools hoping for a certificate with distinction. This is also the time when we gather together with our families to plan this year’s holidays. We try to come to an agreement – as parents on the one hand we would like only to relax, but on the other we want to provide our children with plenty of attractions. How to reconcile it? The answer is simple – Tenerife!
A bit of relax
First of all, Tenerife is an extremely diverse island of the Canaries archipelago. In the north-east there is greater temperature variation and it is much more humid. In the south, the climate is hot and dry during the whole year. For this reason this part of the island, specifically Costa Adeje, is a dream holiday destination. Here we have a majority of tourist resorts surrounded by bars, restaurants, discos, shopping centers, amusement parks, and most importantly – paradise beaches. The most popular of these are Playa de los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas (with sand brought from the Sahara), Playa El Médano and Playa de los Gigantes (about 2 km long).
Loads of fun
If we had the chance to lie down on the beach, sunbathe, and our kids have enough fun in the sand, it is high time for real entertainment. In the south near the hotels we will find a lot of attractions for the whole family. Siam Park is Europe’s largest themed water park. We can admire the lush exotic vegetation, the buildings inspired by the ancient Siamese architecture (Thailand today), and have fun using giant water slides and waterfalls. In turn the Aqualand Costa Adeje, in addition to numerous pools, playgrounds and waterslides, will delight us with acrobatic dolphin shows, recognized by animal trainers as the best in the world. As if this was not enough, less than 15 km from Adeje we will find the Jungle Park, a wild jungle full of exotic vegetation, streams, caves and animals – lions, tigers, crocodiles and many others. The walk around Jungle Park is a great adventure, as we can wander through through the hanging alleys and bridges.
